Post-48 Hour Challenge notes...

Well, everything is a learning experience if you look at it the right way. I learned the critical value of having an AD (Assistant Director) on your set, even if it's only to yell "Stand By!", "Rolling!" and "Cut!". Without that, it's hard for a film crew to know when the cameras are rolling and when they aren't. I also learned that after a Really Long Day, grip and lighting equipment gets Really Really Heavy. The IFP Phoenix 48 Hour Film Challenge

I'll be participating in the 48 hour film challenge this weekend, but on another team - I waited too long to sign up, and all the slots were gone. Who knew it would be that popular?

One thing I *do* know is that I definitely learn more from making movies than taking classes or attending seminars - you learn what will work, what won't work, what stinks and what gives you the results you want. So I'll be improving my craft in some way or another!

Actual Content!

I've added something new to my page - actual content! I scrounged up some stills from some 3D projects I'm working on or have done in the past, and added some frame grabs showing the actors and some of the special effects from two of my short films. The other shorts that I've done, tragically (or perhaps not so tragically) appear to have been lost the last time I moved from an older computer to a newer model. I must remember to make backups more often in the future.
