I am an instinctual writer/director who is striving to be a wholly independent voice in the film industry. I don't follow the normal path and I love to tell a good, affecting story with sound and images... one that when you exit the theater your eyes are red and your brain is fully engaged.
Hey, just added you as a friend. I have a bit of free time and was surfing. Like your site.

I need someone to take over the business side of my film while I focus on the artistic side… so in other words I need an Executive Producer…
Business side?
Yes, someone who can put together the business plan, find funding, find distribution… someone who can back me up when we pitch this to studios, distributors, various funding sources, etc. Someone who can take this film and give it the best chance…
It will be an improvisational film…
So a few years ago I was in an improvisational theatre troupe. It was so fun, just making things up on stage, well, mostly making of fool of myself. But it opened the world to me. I mean creativity-wise. Many things improved: my directing, my writing, my communication skills, my sense of movement, of who I am and what I do… so many aspects of myself, filmmaking and life!
Then one time I wrote some characterizations, gave them to a group of actors then had them meet at a location… in character. It was a blast to film with two video cameras. Now I want to do this again with a small professional crew and actors to make a feature film!
It will be a much more intensive process… I have the structure, story idea but the thing about making a film this way is strong, attractive characters that the every-day person can empathize with… that is most imperative for audiences! See the improvisational process frees the actors to shake off the chains of words, lines and really get into character, really be in the moment and do fantastic work!
Yes, it could be called a Mike Leigh style of film…
Mike Leigh (Vera Drake, Topsy-Turvy, Secrets & Lies, et al – see http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005139) is a filmmaker I admire for his unconventional filmmaking filled to the brim with rich, exciting characters… rent one, any of his films and you'll see why.
I want to be fully clear that this isn't a horror, SFX, Sci fi type of film. It will be an independent dramatic film, like “A Woman Under the Influence”, “Vera Drake” and “Away from Her”. I know these are diverse films, but I noted them because of how they were made, directed.
Independent Style Film!
I am looking for an executive producer who will give me the freedom to do the film my way. I'm not doing the film to bust box office records, but a great film that audiences can spend two hours away from the world and enjoy… and…
