Hi Rosalinda,

Thanks for starting the Casting Group. I have a question for you... Do you find that casting agents are still requiring hard copies (DVDs) of actors' reels these days or are they moving toward clips on pages like YouTube & MySpace? I was recently asked this question and I honestly have no idea. I know that it's been really convenient to have a demo on YouTube or my homepage in which to refer potential clients but it's been a while since I've been asked to submit one in the mail. I see where postings request e-submissions for headshots and resumes vs. a webpage referral but not where actual demos were concerned.

I'd appreciate any insight.

Thanks a lot!!

Thanks for your question Sallie - it is actually an important point. In response, no we do not want to get a bunch of DVD's but CD's do like to click on a link and view an actors work. We do a lot of research on IMDB - www.imdb.com and if you notice there is a "video clips" category in which an actor can upload any clips. Additionally, if an actor has a website (which contains their demo reel), they can also hyperlink it to their IMDB page. IMDB has also recently started to include film links on actor's pages. Hope this helps. If I can be of further assistance, please let me know.

Best Regards,
Rosalinda Morales

Thank you so much! I am on IMDB...just need to utilize it better. What about up loading our resumes there? Some of my credits haven't made it onto my imdb page, though I actually did the work and have a pay stub to prove it. Additionally, would you advise against older stuff (demo clips) if its not too dated? I've seen on some actor's sites a place for 'archive' work and I thought it was kind of fun but I'm not sure if it will distract from the point...

Thank you for taking the time to reply! Really good advice!
